auto body and collisiion repair

The People Behind the Magic

Bob and Cheryl Anderson opened Anderson's Autobody in 1989. Bob’s family had always worked in the automotive repair industry, so he decided to keep up the family tradition with his own body shop in Ponderay, Idaho.

Today, the business has grown to serve residents and visitors to the Lake Pend Oreille region, three surrounding counties (Bonner, Boundary, Kootenai) and visitors from Montana, Washington and Canada.

RV owners

With the influx of younger drivers and families who seek a high quality of life in North Idaho, we have steadily and thoughtfully evolved in the Digital Age with tech-forward auto repairs and virtual communication with insurance, parts and materials vendors, and customers alike.

To minimize an already disruptive situation ("my car is in the shop!"), our customer service has expanded to online scheduling, webchat, text messaging, mobile photo uploads, digital video, email and local social media. That way, you can connect with us wherever you are, 24/7, all year long. Look for us on NextDoor, Facebook, Instagram, Google, Apple CarPlay, Bing, Yahoo, Yelp, LinkedIn, Indeed and Glassdoor – whether you’re a customer, camper or future job candidate!

Your time is valuable, so our team acts as a one-stop-shop across towing, after hour drop offs, and specialty services such as auto glass, tinting, tires and paint protection film (PPF). We also share insurance tips and work directly with your insurance company for your convenience and peace of mind.

  • Cam Srigley

  • JD Champion
    JD ChampionCertified Auto Paint Technician

We’ve had the honor of employing JD for six of his 30 years as a first-rate auto refinishing and paint technician. His abilities exceed customer expectations for color-matching on the more intensive pearlescent paints used on late model vehicles. His technique for laying down a duplicate finish to match original manufacturing appearance is commendable – to say the least. Whether your vehicle has experienced long-term coating damage, or you want a fresh coat on your classic car, JD is your guy!

  • Rachel Haase
    Rachel HaasePaint Technician Apprentice

Rachel is one of the hardest working parents we know, with both a 15 and 3-year-old running around. With the huge increase in auto painting and refinishing since 2000 given the shortage of new vehicles, we welcomed Rachel to assist JD and learn the trade two years ago. She preps all vehicles for paint by removing all the grease, dirt, paint and rust from surfaces, and removes or masks accessories such as chrome and mirrors to protect them from paint. She paints small-size parts and rust-resistant undercoats, caulk and sealers to properly-dried new finishes.

  • Frazia Hawkins
    Frazia HawkinsAuto Detailer & Finish

If there is one word that describes Frazia, it is CLEAN. Literally, she sets last eyes, hands, and feet on every vehicle that leaves our shop – washing and buffing dozens of vehicles every month and adding protective finishes to your vehicle’s exterior. She also vacuums and deodorizes the interiors. Many of our 5-star customer reviews gush about the “like-new, smell-new” condition of every car that leaves Anderson’s. You can thank Frazia for that. She takes COVID-19 and other safety protocols very seriously using masks, gloves and disinfectants for your safety and hers. We are so lucky to have her.

  • David Rafferty
    David RaffertyCollision Appraiser

David is meticulous, detail-oriented and loves serving his community – all the things you want in an estimator when taking stock of damage seen and unseen on your vehicle. He’s been with Anderson’s for seven years and not only works with customers on a “true repair cost” but works on ordering parts, materials and the body shop to get you back on the road. He is a husband, father of three grown kids, and grandpa to seven! David grew up and lived San Bernadino, California and worked as an autobody tech for 30 years – half of that also as an appraiser – including Norton air force base. He’s worked in the industry since 1978 – 26 years of which right here in Bonner County!
